President’s Message

 Happy Spring! It seems impossible that we are only about six weeks away from the end of the school year, and only four weeks until graduation. 

The Forty Third Anniversary of the Spartan Club and Volunteer Appreciation Mass is Sunday, May18th, at 10:30 AM. PLEASE mark your calendars and plan to attend. Refreshments will follow in the cafeteria, and the Spartan of the Year Award will be presented to the 2008 recipient. This special event is planned to honor all volunteers.  Maybe your undertaking was a massive involvement, or maybe you simply offered your prayers for a successful school year- we want to honor you, the parent volunteers for making Immaculata what it is today. What better way to celebrate Immaculata and all that it represents than being present on this day?  Liturgy with all of the volunteers, past and present, is truly a beautiful way to thank everyone. Please see the form at the bottom of this newsletter for detailed information.

 I hope everyone that wanted a ticket to the Fashion Show was able to get one. As in the past, it sold out in only a few days. The event was a tremendous success and the Spartan Club will present a check to Sister Regina shortly. A conservative estimate of $63,000 was announced, however, we expect it to be a bit more when the final tally is complete. Grazie mille to the many people that volunteered on the fashion show committee. This was Lisa Pilon’s first year to chair this event, and she and the many committee people did a fabulous job. The co-ordination of this event is extremely time/talent /treasure intensive. They made it look so easy! A special thank you goes out to all the family members of the volunteers, for their patience and support, as their spouse/mom/dad worked many hours on this. PS We had 88 baskets in the Mother’s Auction this year!

 Please remember that the Campus Ministry Garage Sale is Friday and Saturday, May 2^nd & 3^rd. Drop off of donated items is Wednesday April 30^th and Thursday May 1^st. See the Special Events section of this newsletter for additional information. Help is still needed.

 Congratulation to the Class of 2008! Please keep them in you prayers as they attend the festivities that are planned for them and as they embark on the next phase of their lives.

The next meeting of the Spartan Club will be on Monday, May 7 at 7:30 PM in the Library. Hope to see you there.
