Fairleigh Dickinson University

 

Fairleigh Dickinson has been leading entrepreneurship program in the state, the comprehensive program was ranked 7th by the Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine.  There is scholarship money for students wishing to major or concentrate in Entrepreneurial Studies.  Depending on need this ranges from $1,000 - $10,000.  In addition, enter the 2007 New Jersey Business Idea Competition recognizes those who develop bright, commercially feasible ideas and fosters an entrepreneurial mindset among all students www.fdu.edu/rothman  Submitted by Feb. 17, 2007.

 

 

 

Sammy Got Milk

 

$7,500.00 college scholarship from the Milk Processor Education Program.  Judging of the nominees will be based on five criteria:  academic performance (35%), athletic excellence (35%), leadership (15%), community service (10%) and milk experience (5%).    Applications will only be accepted online at bodybymilk.com until March 9, 2007.

 

The Van Doren Scholarship

 

Students must be a resident of Somerset County who is attending or planning to attend as a full-time accredited four year college or university, a two-year college, or post a high school trade or nursing school.  Deadline for submitting a complete application is March 15, 2007.  See guidance department for details.

 

 

 

New Jersey Burglar & Fire Alarm Association

 

NBFAA is pleased to announce the availability of scholarship awards to sons and daughters of active duty police and fire personnel.

 

The awards in the amount of $1,500 for first place and $1,000 for second price are available to qualified high school seniors.  Another exciting part of this program is that the first place winner from NJ is eligible for the national scholarship award.  The first place winner of the NBFAA Scholarship Program will receive $6,500 and the second place winner will receive $3,500.  Student must be at least 15 years and not older than 20.  Must be accepted for admission to an accredited college or university, matriculating the following year.  Eligible student must have a father, mother or natural guardian who meets the following qualifications:  Full-time active employee in the state where the student applies;  Parent must be a full-time paid member of the police or sheriff’s department or fire department.  Parent/guardian may also be a volunteer member of a fire department;  Full-time public safety officers (police/fire) Children of administrative staff do not qualify;  Children of DHS, FBI and other Federal employees do not qualify;  Children of reserve officers, part-time sheriff’s deputies and retired, deceased or disabled employees do not qualify.  Each student must submit a fully completed and signed application Scholarship Deadline March 30, 2007

 

 

Donate Life America – NJ Coalition on Donation

 

Three scholarships worth $2,000 each will be awarded to NJ high school senior, college or technical student.  Donor family member, donor, transplant recipient or donor awareness advocate and student must be in the top 50% of the class.  See guidance for additional information deadline April 1, 2007.

 

 

 

 

National Association of Water Companies New Jersey Chapter

 

$2,500 Scholarships for Students Interested in the Water Utility Industry or any Related Field.  Must be a US citizen a NJ resident for 5 years, pursuing a degree in a NJ college or university, maintaining at least 3.0 GPA and interested in the water utility industry or in any related field, such as, natural resource management, environmental sciences, biology, chemistry, engineering, communication, computer science, business administration, human resources, consumer affairs, law, accounting, finance, etc.  Postmarked no later than April 1, 2007.

 

 

 

 

American Legion Auxiliary, Department of NJ

 

-           2007 National President’s Scholarship, there will be 15 scholarships awarded for the year 2006-            2007.  Three scholarships will be awarded in each Division of the American Legion Auxiliary, one       In the amount of $2,500.00 one in the amount of $2,000; and one in the amount of $1,000.  All are            gift scholarships and are not loans. Applicants must present the completed application to the local American Legion Auxiliary Unit President on or before March 1, 2007.

 

-           2007 Nursing Scholarship for those entering the field of nursing or related vocation. 

            Deadline is April 15, 2007.

 

-           2007 Scholarship Dorothy Kellerman Scholarship – 1 year scholarship

-           One Year Department Scholarship (one in North Jersey; one in Central Jersey and one in South             Jersey).   Deadline is April 15, 2007.

 

-           Claire Oliphant Memorial Scholarship, an $1,800.00 grant payable in one check – is awarded in             memory of Claire Oliphant, the first Department President.  Deadline April 15, 2007.

Community Builders Association of NJ

 

Scholarships will be awarded this Spring to a student in the Essex, Morris, Somerset, Union, Hunterdon and Warren area, to be applied toward tuition for full-time college attendance in the September 2007 school year.  Given to students contemplating study in the construction or related field such as engineering and architecture or to a student whose parents work in the building industry.  However, these are not requirements.  Deadline is April 15, 2007.    973-887-2888

New Jersey Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Association, Inc.

 

A scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to be awarded to a graduating senior who has Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.  The deadline for submitting applications for consideration will be April 19, 2007.  Applicants will be notified by May 19, 2007.

 

 

Educational Communication Scholarship Foundation

 

It is not necessary to be listed in Who’s Who to qualify for a scholarship.
