IHS Students Visit Liberty Science Center to Observe Live Kidney Transplant

At the Liberty Science Center, Immaculata High School’s Marian Scholars (some 9th and 10th graders pictured here), along with the Anatomy classes and the AP Biology class saw a live surgery (a kidney transplant) live streamed from St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston NJ. The students could talk to the doctors and ask questions during the surgery; one student described the experience as "life changing." Another stated,  "Seeing a live surgery was so interesting. Instead of reading a textbook, I got to vividly experience a kidney surgery in live time which I found so amazing. I couldn't stop talking about it.”  For more information about our Marian Scholars Program, please click here.
