Somerville, N.J. – Jeffrey Martinelli has been named Assistant Principal for Student Affairs at Immaculata High School. In his role he will be partnering with administrators, teachers, parents, and students to maintain structure and organization, conducive to a successful academic environment. Part of his responsibilities will be fostering a long-honored tradition of mutual respect and collegiality among the entire school population. In addition, he will supervise activities of clubs, class trips, and school events.
A former history teacher with a great passion for the Civil War, Martinelli recently served in an administrative function at Benedictine Academy in Elizabeth. A graduate of Montclair State University and a MA candidate at Seton Hall University in Education Leadership Management and Policy, Martinelli also worked in retail management, giving him an insightful perspective of both the business and education worlds.
“My goal is to drive the feeling that Immaculata is our students' home away from home by providing alternative experiences than traditional classroom experiences here. Two examples ready to be launched this quarter are implementing aspects of SEL ( Social Emotional Learning) with the IHS curriculum and piloting leadership/administration lunches with small groups of students.
"I truly feel blessed and honored to join the community at Immaculata High School. Through my mother-in-law, who is a graduate, I know that this is a school with a rich tradition and exemplary history, I look forward to working with all the members of the IHS community in building a bridge from the traditions of the past, to the exciting future of 21st Century education."
