Cindy Fischer ’75

Cindy FischerCindy was a powerhouse female basketball player and a pioneer in girls’ sports at Immaculata and for young women in that era. She has the distinction of being the first in the school’s history to score over 1000 basketball points. Cindy also was a catcher on the Spartan softball team, had served on the Student Council, and was crowned Prom Queen for her class.

Cindy played with some of the greats of women’s college basketball at Pennsylvania’s Immaculata College. Earning a full athletic scholarship convinced her to transfer to the University of New Mexico (UNM). Following her UNM Coach to the University of San Diego, Cindy coached there until 1987.

She eventually moved to another emerging business: technology, where she had a front-row seat in a pioneering industry for many years until her retirement.
