Posted on 09/15/2025

The Spartan Marching Band kicked off their competitive season on Saturday, September 13, at the USBands Competition at Passaic Valley High School. Coming off their 2024 NJ State and National Championship titles, and moving up into a more competitive class this year, the Spartans impressed in their debut performance. With a score of 74.0, the band captured caption awards for Best Music, Best Visual, and Best Effect.

Drum Major Emily Nichols ’26 shared, “This season, the Spartan Marching Band has been off to a great start! We have great momentum, especially after our first performance at Passaic Valley. We have already accomplished so much as a band, which is a testament to the dedication and hard work of all of the students in the band. I am really looking forward to seeing all that we can accomplish this year!”

This year’s production, Ever After, invites audiences on an unforgettable journey through the pages of the world’s most beloved fairy tales. From glass slippers to magic mirrors, wolves to wicked witches, the story weaves together one timeless theme — the hope of a happily ever after.

“The 2025 season has so far been incredibly fruitful and rewarding, and we are so extraordinarily proud of all of our hard work that brought us to a first place win at our first competition!" Added Drum Major Natalie DiStefano ’26. "The band is so excited to keep sharing our program Ever After throughout the remainder of our season, and we know that we will ‘Go The Distance’ all the way to nationals!”
