Another Banner Weekend for Cold Fusion

Cold FusionAt the Bridgewater-Raritan High School FIRST Robotics competition this weekend, Immaculata’s Cold Fusion team had another outstanding performance. They finished the qualifying round with a record of 7-5, good for ranking 13th out of 35 teams.

However, in the alliance selection process, Team 1279 got bumped up to be captain of the number eight alliance. As such, Cold Fusion chose teams from Hunterdon Central and Don Bosco Prep to compete with them in the playoffs. In the quarter finals, Cold Fusion's alliance had to go up against the number one alliance and all saw a very competitive match-up. After losing the first match, Team 1279 and partners won the second match, but then lost the third match. Cold Fusion played very spirited defense and the competition was very concerned about the intensity and potential outcome of the play.

After two events, Cold Fusion is ranked 23rd out of 128 teams in the MAR District. That ranking could change, since many teams have not yet played their second event. Cold Fusion has had a remarkable launch of their season and looks forward to securing their qualification in the Mid-Atlantic Robotics District Championship to be held at Lehigh University April 4 to 6, 2019.
