On Monday August 31, 2020 all of our new students were officially welcomed to Immaculata High School with our annual LATA Living New Student Orientation event!
We had over 130 freshmen and 20 transfer students enjoy a day led by our Senior Lata Living Leaders. The students learned about our four pillars: Faith, Scholarship, Service and Friendship through various presentations, activities, and even a mock school day! The students toured the school, met their classmates and teachers, and the day ended with Mass celebrated by our new Director of Catholic Identity, Rev. Joseph Illés and Theology teacher, Rev. Thomas Lanza.
The safety procedures put in place did not phase the students or impact our day! The weather was beautiful as we enjoyed the majority of our program outside. In addition, the new students got a “leg up” on our return by practicing our one-way hallways and disinfecting each room. It was great to see all of the colorful masks and the smiles in their eyes as they explored the routines, various locations and experienced one of Immaculata’s beloved traditions.
The highlight of our event was at the end of Mass during the Eucharistic Prayer when a beautiful rainbow arched over the students. A kiss from God and His blessing on this school year and all of our faculty, staff, administration and especially our students.
