Bill Malloy '93

Bill MalloryDuring his four years at Immaculata High School, Bill Malloy made major contributions to both the football and baseball teams. In baseball, Bill earned a position on the “All-Conference” Team during his sophomore year, the “All-State Parochial” Team his junior year, and the “All-State All-Groups” Team his senior year. He was also named “Player of the Year” by both the Courier News and the Messenger Gazette.

While at Immaculata Bill excelled in football as well as baseball. During his sophomore year, he earned a position on the “All-Conference”, “All-County”, and “All-Area” Teams. In his junior year, he earned a position on the “All-State Parochial” Team and was the recipient of the “HIS Outstanding Junior” award. Bill’s senior year was also outstanding. He was named to the “First Team–All-Region” Team and he was Team Captain. Bill was also named the “Defensive Player of the Year” by The Courier News, The Star Ledger, the Home News, and the Messenger Gazette.

After graduating from Immaculata, Bill attended Rutgers University on a baseball scholarship. Bill was drafted in the 6th round by the San Francisco Giants out of Rutgers. In 1998, Bill led the Giants organization in wins and innings pitched. That same year, the Giants won the California League Championship. Bill was also named Pitcher of the Week on three separate occasions. He was invited to the Big League Camp in 1997, 1998, and 1999.
