Kerry Jo Sullivan '87

Kerry Jo SullivanA three-sport athlete at Immaculata High School, Kerry played soccer, basketball, and softball. She was the captain of all three teams in her final year at Immaculata. She was Immaculata’s Female Athlete of the Year (1987) and received All-State, All-Parochial, All-Area, and All-County honors in both basketball and softball in her Junior and Senior years.

As a forward for Immaculata’s soccer team, Kerry was a leading scorer for the Spartans for several seasons and finally in their inaugural Varsity season her senior year.

As a shooting guard/small forward for the basketball team, Kerry contributed to the team’s success, averaging 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists per game in her final season. Kerry’s basketball career at Immaculata culminated her senior year as her team clinched the Parochial B State Championship. The state title was the first and only basketball state championship that Immaculata has ever won.

Kerry’s softball career was equally successful. She helped her team as a pitcher to capture several county titles, posting a pitching record of 18-2 as a junior, with an E.R.A of 1.53, batted .403, and was a New York Daily News All-State selection. As a senior, she posted a record of 12-1, throwing two no-hitters, with an E.R.A. of 1.19 and batted .421. Her senior year, the softball team won the Parochial B North Title, falling just one game short of the state championship, their only loss of the season.

Kerry pursued basketball at the Division I college level, accepting a four-year scholarship to Kent State University. As a shooting guard at Kent, she contributed to the Lady Flashes’ success in the Mid-American Conference. She graduated from Kent in 1991 with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a double major in Accounting and Finance.

She continued her education at Seton Hall University School of Law. Kerry worked full time as a financial analyst with Dun & Bradstreet while attending Seton Hall’s evening law program, and received her Juris Doctor in 1996.
