During her high school years at Immaculata High School, Stephanie Maxwell-Pierson was a member of the soccer team. In her senior year she was Co-Captain of the soccer team. She was also a member of the cheerleading squad.

After her years at Immaculata High School, Stephanie attended Cornell University where she began rowing. After graduating from Cornell in 1986, Stephanie built an impressive record during a seven-year competitive rowing career. The U.S. Rowing Association names Stephanie as “Female Athlete of the Year” for both 1990 and 1991. In the U.S. National Championships, she attained 14 First Place titles in Women’s Pair, Four, and Eight rowing events.

After her rowing career, Stephanie was invited to “try out” for an all-women sailing team to compete against men for America’s oldest trophy–the America’s Cup. Stephanie earned the position of main sail grinder. Sportscaster, John Madden, named Stephanie to his”1995 All-Madden America’s Cup Sailing Team”.

A two-time Olympian, Stephanie Maxwell-Pierson, won a bronze medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, in the Women’s Pair rowing event. In 1988, she participated in the Summer Olympics in Seoul, Korea, in the Women’s Eight event where her US crew finished 6th in the finals.
