We have three exciting projects taking place at Immaculata High School over the summer. First of all, Immaculata is going green! Over the next few weeks, the school’s roofs will be replaced and solar panels will be installed which will make Immaculata High School the first school in the Diocese of Metuchen to use this form of clean energy. It will also produce a significant reduction in energy costs over the coming years. This project originated with Msgr. Brennan and with the members of the parish Finance Council and IHS Facilities Committee. As Vicar for Administration, I supported the project when Msgr. Brennan first brought it to the diocese and am pleased to have carried it through to fruition. I owe a special word of thanks to Mr. John Tegeler and the members of the Facilities Committee for their hard work on developing and initiating this project, as well as to Mr. Steve Michalek, Director, Office of Properties and Facilities Management in the diocese for his valuable assistance.

The second project is the redesign and installation of a new athletic field at the high school. The Theo Riddick '09 Athletic Field, which is now past its age limit, needs replacement and modernization. The field has been redesigned to be multi-purposed and to reflect Spartan pride. (See below.) While we will be financing this project over the next 3 years, we are also gratefully accepting donations from our alumni, parishioners, and friends to help defray the cost of the new field. For more information on how you can help, please contact Rich Rau, Director of the Office of Advancement, at [email protected], or the parish office.

Lastly, we are completing the third and final phase of the parking lot replacement project at the high school. The final section involves the front lot and the circular driveway which goes around the school.
