GiGi’s Playhouse is a Down syndrome achievement center located throughout the US and Mexico. The organization offers programs and guidance to individuals with Down syndrome and their families.

Volunteers at Immaculata frequent GiGi’s to play games, make crafts with the children, and help spread awareness. Most recently, Campus Ministry, the Pro-Life Club, and our Student Council joined together to sponsor a “Crazy Sock Day” with all proceeds to benefit Gigi’s Playhouse in Hillsborough.

Immaculata was honored 2021 Community Partner of the year by the Board of Managers of Gigi’s Playhouse in Hillsborough. This award was given to staff and students of Immaculata for their many hours of active volunteering and participation. The award was presented by freshman Amelia Morris, daughter of Gigi’s Playhouse vice president Erin Morris. Head of School Joan Silo, who was given the honor of receiving the award on behalf of the Immaculata. She shares, “We are blessed and fortunate to work with children and young adults with Down Syndrome through Gigi’s Playhouse. The experiences are beautiful and life-changing for everyone.”
