Freshman Lily Kassai Inspires Generosity at St. Edward Parish in Support of Appalachia Mission
Lily Kassai recently spoke at her parish, Saint Edward the Confessor Church in Milford, NJ, to raise awareness of the Appalachia trip and seek prayers and financial support for this tremendously impactful cause. Lily shared, “Although our parish is small, our hearts are mighty, and this faith-filled community overwhelmed me with their generosity.”
Lily continued, “I am an altar server at St. Edward Church, so the parishioners are used to seeing me on the altar. However, when I approached the podium after each Mass this weekend, I was welcomed in a different way. Everyone was so attentive and eager to hear about Appalachia and the impact that IHS has on this program.”
After each Mass, Lily stood outside the church with her donation box and was incredibly moved by the generosity of the Saint Edward community, which overflowed her box with donations. Lily said, “I am very thankful for this experience and for the opportunity to raise awareness and funds for Appalachia.”
