For Immaculata senior Jack Falcone, summer wasn’t just a break from the classroom — it was an opportunity to learn, serve, and explore his interests in healthcare and music.
Jack was one of just 20 students selected to participate in the highly selective Morristown Medical Center Youth Program. He spent much of his summer at the hospital supporting patients, including those facing cancer, while gaining firsthand exposure to hospital technologies, healthcare careers, and the importance of compassionate patient care.
The experience gave Jack an opportunity to see the healthcare field from a perspective that goes well beyond textbooks and classrooms.
“Jack's summer experience is a wonderful example of the kind of authentic learning we hope to inspire through our Health Sciences Professional Exploration Program (PREP),” said Kristin Boczany, Vice Principal of Academics. “His time at Morristown Medical Center allowed him to experience the healthcare field firsthand while developing a deeper understanding of both the technical and human sides of patient care.”

Jack’s summer of service and learning didn’t stop at the hospital. He also helped run music camps in the county and continued developing his talents as a musician by becoming an official organist at his local church.
Through experiences like these, Jack is putting into action many of the values at the heart of an Immaculata education — combining scholarship, service, personal growth, and the pursuit of his individual gifts.
Through Health Sciences PREP and Immaculata’s dual-enrollment partnership with Rutgers University, students have opportunities to explore professional interests, connect classroom learning with real-world experiences, and begin envisioning the careers they may one day pursue.
“We are incredibly proud to see Jack taking full advantage of those opportunities and bringing the spirit of service into his senior year,” Boczany added.
For Jack, the experiences have provided plenty of momentum as he begins his final year at Immaculata.
“Between service, music, and training, it was a summer of learning, giving back, and working hard, and I’m truly grateful for each experience,” Jack said. “I’m excited to carry that spirit into my senior year as a Spartan.”
