COLD FUSION FINISHES TOP 8 AT ROBOCON
Posted on 09/28/2026

Immaculata’s Cold Fusion Robotics team wrapped up its REBUILT season with an impressive showing at RoboCon, finishing among the Top 8 out of 24 teams and representing Immaculata with skill, teamwork, and Spartan pride throughout the weekend.

Cold Fusion opened qualification play on Saturday with four straight victories. After eight matches, the team finished 4–4, earning the No. 8 ranking and the opportunity to serve as captain of the eighth-ranked alliance heading into Sunday’s playoff bracket.

Leading the drive team were Co-Captains Ava Sviderskis-Carroll, Robot Operator, and Jack Falcone, Robot Driver, along with Mechanical Lead and Technician Devlyn Gaither and Human Player Brandon Medina.

The team’s success extended well beyond the competition field. Returning members Logan Rivera, Mihir Brahma, Erikson Wadehn, Sophie Tom-Wolverton, and Emmie Westervelt worked throughout the weekend to maintain and repair the robot while supporting their teammates from the stands. Cold Fusion’s newest members also came out to support the team, including Eddie Morris, who played an important role throughout Saturday’s competition.

As alliance captain, Cold Fusion selected Team 2720, Red Watch Robotics from Lenape High School, and Team 2559, Normality Zero from Dauphin County Technical School, to join them in the double-elimination playoff bracket.

The alliance faced tough competition throughout Sunday’s playoffs. Despite mechanical issues and hard-fought matches, Cold Fusion continued competing until the very end, demonstrating the resilience and teamwork that have defined the team throughout the season.

Just as importantly, Cold Fusion members were outstanding ambassadors for Immaculata throughout the weekend. Their performance was supported by the mentors, parents, faculty, alumni, and friends who helped make the season possible and came out to cheer on the team.

With RoboCon marking the conclusion of the REBUILT season, Cold Fusion is already looking ahead. The next chapter begins January 10, when the team receives the game announcement for BIOCORE and begins preparing to take on teams throughout the Mid-Atlantic District.

Congratulations to the entire Cold Fusion team!
