Spille Leads Spartans to 2-0 Start with Another Monster Performance
Posted on 09/08/2025

Immaculata senior running back #8 Daysir Spille put on a spectacle Friday night at Torpey Field, rushing for 297 yards and three touchdowns to power the Spartans past The Peddie School (Hightstown), 45-33, in front of a sold-out crowd.

Through just two games, Spille has been nothing short of unstoppable. He now leads the entire state of New Jersey with 598 rushing yards and nine touchdowns, averaging a staggering 248 yards per game and nearly 10 yards per carry. Against Peddie, he piled off runs at will—including a 50-yard burst on the first play of scrimmage that brought Spartan Nation to their feet.

Spille wasn’t the only weapon in the ground attack. Brian Cilento added 57 yards and a touchdown, giving Immaculata a balanced one-two punch behind a great offensive line performance. Together, the Spartans racked up 376 rushing yards—their highest single-game total since September 2024.

The night also carried special meaning off the field. Before kickoff, head coach Mike Columbo alongside his family was honored by Athletic Director Tom Gambino and Principal Ed Webber, for reaching the incredible milestone of 150 career wins.
