Juneteenth Observed!

Juneteenth Observed!
Posted on 06/19/2022

“We cannot truly pray to God the Father of all if we treat any people in other than brotherly fashion, for all men are created in the image of God… Therefore, the Church reproves, as foreign to the will of Christ, any discrimination against people or any persecution of them on the basis of their race, color, social condition or religion.” St. John Paul II

As we celebrate the newly formed federal holiday of Juneteenth, we are reminded, of course, of our duty to live Christ’s new commandment, to love one another. At Immaculata, and in a special way through the intercession of Mary, Immaculate, we pray for peace in our world and justice for all.
