Coach Kevin Cust

A member of Immaculataʼs elite Hall of Fame, Kevin Cust ʼ00 was named as Varsity Baseball Coach in 2013. As a player in the late 1990ʼs, Cust led the Spartans to four Somerset County Tournament Baseball Championships, hit thirty three home runs, and was named to two NJ all-state teams and two All-American teams. Hitting an average .588 average during his senior year, Coach Cust proved to be one of the best baseball players in Immaculataʼs storied baseball history. As the teamʼs catcher, Cust managed the game from behind the plate and caught for one of the best pitching staffs ever at Immaculata. After graduating from Immaculata, Coach Cust was drafted into professional baseball by the Atlanta Braves, where he played minor league ball. He played for a time at the State College of Florida and earned his teaching degree in History from Kean University. Currently, Coach Cust is the Director of Baseball Operations and coach of the Diamond Jacks Super 17U at Diamond Nation, as well as an ESL teacher.

Coach Cust embraces the long-held team motto, "Tradition Never Graduates." He stresses the importance of this to his players and coaches and leads by example and teaching. He has built and continues to build a culture that emphasizes building trust with his players while staying in the present moment to build momentum towards success. This approach allows his players to learn invaluable life lessons, which he feels is his most important responsibility as a coach. Under this process, the Immaculata baseball team has seen much success placing many players into college baseball while winning back to back Somerset County Tournament championships.
