College Scholarship Offerings

Franklin Woman's Club

The Franklin Woman’s Club has announced their annual scholarship opportunity for female students who reside in Franklin Township Somerset. The FWC is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting education, encouraging leadership, and supporting community improvement projects through volunteerism. Applicants must graduate high school in the Spring of 2024 and have been accepted to a 2 or 4-year college, and may attend high school outside the district. Completed applications must be delivered to the Office of School Counseling and/or postmarked by March 20, 2024. Interested students must contact their School Counselor or Mrs. Peltack on or before Friday, March 15th to ensure that official transcripts are prepared to meet the deadline. The Scholarship application is posted on the Franklin Woman’s Club website at: https://www.franklinwomansclub.com/ or can be obtained in the Office of School Counseling.


The Italian American Club at Canal Walk

The Italian American Club at Canal Walk is offering scholarships for high school seniors from Immaculata who are of Italian descent (Father's or Mother's side of the family).

The following criteria will be used for this scholarship:
1) A current high school transcript MUST be attached
2) Two (2) letters of recommendation (One letter must be from a teacher; the other from a person who played a supervisory role in a current or past activity in which the applicant participated; e.g. employer, coach, counselor, cleric)
3) List of all extracurricular activities, including school activities, community service activities and work experience, listing years of participation and weekly work hours, if applicable.
4) Acceptance to a 2 or 4 year accredited college
5) Completion of the following essay topic: What Italian person in your family or family’s Italian belief has been your biggest inspiration?

The essay must be a minimum of one (1) and a maximum of two (2) single-spaced typed pages. All applications must contain the 5 items listed above and submitted to the School Counseling Office on or before Monday, March 25, 2024 to meet the Italian American Club’s deadline. James McGrady Scholarship

The Branchburg Rotary has announced the James McGrady Scholarship in honor of James McGrady AKA Papa Jim, a well known Chef in Somerset County who worked tirelessly to not only train young people in the culinary arts, but fight hunger wherever he found people in need. This scholarship is open to any Somerset County senior who intends to work in the culinary field or fight hunger as Jim did. Somerset County Seniors who have a B average or higher and who are passionate about feeding others, whether in a commercial establishment or through a community based organization are encouraged to apply. The application must be completed on a computer and returned to the Branchburg Rotary Scholarship Committee at [email protected] by March 27, 2024.


Somerville Civic League Scholarship

The Somerville Civic League will award a scholarship to an Immaculata Senior who resides in Somerville and will attend college in the Fall. Applicants must have demonstrated a strong commitment to volunteerism and service within the community of Somerville. Instructions and an application can be found here. The completed application and essay must be emailed to Maureen Dwyer at [email protected] on or before Monday, April 8, 2024.


Rotary Club of Somerville and Bridgewater Scholarship

The Rotary Club of Somerville and Bridgewater has announced their $1,500 scholarship to be awarded to one (1) Immaculata High School senior planning to attend college next year. Selection is based on academic performance, extracurricular activities and service to the community. An application, a 500-word essay, a copy of the student’s transcript and no more than two letters of recommendation are required. The application can be obtained in the School Counseling Office or found here. All applications must be returned to the School Counseling Office by: Thursday, April 25th to meet the Rotary's deadline of Friday, April 26, 2024.


The Rotary Club of Somerville and Bridgewater von Stade Music Scholarship

This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to one (1) senior from participating high schools (Immaculata HS, Somerville HS, Bridgewater-Raritan HS, Vo-Tech HS) who plans on majoring in music next year in College. The time and place of the auditions will be announced. Interested seniors are encouraged to contact the Immaculata Music Director or Lilian Tarantino at 908-725-0737 for more information and a copy of the application.


The Iron Girl Scholarship

The Iron Girl Scholarship is given in memory of Alexea Karpinski, a 17 year old student athlete who attended Hunterdon Central High School. The Scholarship is open to NJ student athletes who will graduate in 2024 and have a minimum grade point average of 3.5. An application and coach's reference are required. Several scholarships in the amount of $2,200 or more will be awarded. The deadline to apply is April 15, 2024. Loew & Patel Orthodontics

Loew & Patel Orthodontics (Located in Bridgewater, Flemington and Annandale) is offering 3 $500 scholarships to graduating seniors who are currently patients or have been patients at Loew & Patel Orthodontics or Sanford Orthodontics. Applicants must be high school seniors who have applied to college. The Somerset County School Nurses Association Scholarship

The Somerset County School Nurses Association Scholarship has been announced and is open to seniors who reside in Somerset County and have been accepted and plan to attend a college or university which offers an undergraduate nursing program. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. The application, along with essay, resume, high school transcript, nursing program acceptance notice, and two letters of recommendation, must be emailed on or before April 19, 2024 to qualify. Rotary Club of Hillsborough Scholarship

The Rotary Club of Hillsborough has announced a scholarship available to high school seniors who reside in Hillsborough, but attend high school outside of the district. Immaculata students are encouraged to apply for this one-time $2,000 scholarship which recognizes a student who exemplifies the Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self”. A one-page, single spaced essay on your involvement in, and service to, your local community is required. The application form and instructions are available on the Rotary Club website at https://portal.clubrunner.ca/4875, under Forms and Documents (click on Non-HHS Scholarship Application). An application form is also available here. Applications must be submitted online as described in the instructions. The application deadline is April 30th. Applicants will be notified by email in late May and the scholarship winner will be invited to an award ceremony in Hillsborough in the summer. The student will be presented with an award certificate and a check at that time.


The Joao Jose 'John' Santos Charitable Organization's

The Joao Jose 'John' Santos Charitable Organization's mission is to educate and empower people so they have the tools needed to help live better, healthier and amazing lives and prevent more suicide. This organization will award two $200 scholarships to seniors who have been impacted by suicide loss and are continuing their education in a field that aids mental health. The 2024 scholarship application can be found here and must be returned by May 18, 2024. A transcript, letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor and a 500 word essay are required.
