The Italian American Club of Hunterdon County
The Italian American Heritage Club of Hunterdon County offers eight scholarship awards for graduating high school seniors who reside in Hunterdon County and are of Italian descent on either side of their families. Scholarships will be awarded based on merit, academic excellence, vocational/technical skills, school activities and service to the community. An application, essay, transcript and counselor form are required. Detailed information and the application can be obtained here: or in the Office of School Counseling. Due to the Easter Recess (April 6-16), all applications must be submitted to your Counselor by Tuesday, April 3, 2023 to meet the April 15th deadline. No late applications will be accepted.
The Italian American Club at Canal Walk
The Italian American Club at Canal Walk is offering scholarships for high school seniors from Immaculata who are of Italian descent (Father's or Mother's side of the family). The following criteria will be used for this scholarship:
- A current high school transcript MUST be attached
- Two (2) letters of recommendation (One letter must be from a teacher; the other from a person who played a supervisory role in a current or past activity in which the applicant participated; e.g. employer, coach, cleric)
- List of all extracurricular activities, including school activities, community service activities and work experience, listing years of participation and weekly work hours, if applicable.
- Acceptance to a 2 or 4 year accredited college
- Completion of the following essay topic: Describe how your Italian heritage influences your values and decisions.
The essay must be a minimum of one (1) and a maximum of two (2) single-spaced typed pages.
All applications must contain the 5 items listed above and submitted to the School Counseling Office on or before April 3, 2023 to meet the Italian American Club’s deadline of April 5, 2022. Applications are available in the School Counseling Office or can be obtained here.
Loew and patel orthodontics scholarship
Loew and Patel Orthodontics is offering three $500 scholarships, one for each of their offices located in Flemington, Bridgewater, and Annandale to three graduating seniors. Applicants must be current patients or have been patients in the past of Loew & Patel Orthodontics or Sanford Orthodontics and must be attending college in the Fall of 2023. The deadline to apply is Monday, April 17, 2023. An application and criteria for the scholarship can be found here.
The Rotary Club of Somerville and Bridgewater Scholarship
The Rotary Club of Somerville and Bridgewater has announced their $1,500 scholarship to be awarded to one (1) Immaculata High School senior planning to attend college next year. Selection is based on academic performance, extracurricular activities and service to the community. An application, a 500 word essay, a copy of the student’s transcript and no more than two letters of recommendation are required. The application can be obtained in the School Counseling Office or by clicking here. All applications must be returned to the School Counseling Office by: Thursday, April 20, 2023.
The Rotary Club of Somerville and Bridgewater von Stade Music Scholarship
This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to one (1) senior from participating high schools (Immaculata HS, Somerville HS, Bridgewater-Raritan HS, Vo-Tech HS) who plans on majoring in music next year. The time and place of the auditions will be announced. Interested seniors are encouraged to contact the Immaculata Music Director or Lilian Tarantino at 908-725-0737 for more information and a copy of the application.
Somerset County School Nurses Association
The Somerset County School Nurses Association has announced its annual scholarship open to seniors who reside in or attend school in Somerset County and have been accepted and plan to attend a college or university which offers an undergraduate nursing program. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Application, along with essay, resume, high school transcript, nursing program acceptance notice, and two letters of recommendation, must be emailed on or before April 21, 2023 to qualify. Rotary Club of Hillsborough Scholarship
The Rotary Club of Hillsborough Scholarship is available to high school seniors who reside in Hillsborough, but attend high school outside of the district. Immaculata students are encouraged to apply for this one-time $2,000 scholarship which recognizes a student who exemplifies the Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self”. A one-page, single spaced essay on your involvement in, and service to, your local community is required, along with the application which can be accessed here.
Applicants must contact the Office of School Counseling to confirm their interest in applying for the scholarship on or before April 25, 2023. Completed applications must be emailed to the Hillsborough Rotary Club at [email protected] by April 30, 2023. Paper copies will not be accepted.
Iron Girl Project Scholarship
Iron Girl Project is a non-profit group that honors the memory of Alexea Karpinski who we lost in 2020 and attended Hunterdon Central High School. Any Immaculata seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.5 can apply for this Scholarship. At least one coach must be listed as a reference. All Immaculata students are invited to participate in the Iron Girl Project 5K to be held at Duke Island Park on June 4th. Details can also be found on the website.
The Maureen E. Nolan Foundation
The Maureen E. Nolan Foundation is pleased to announce their 2023 Scholarship Essay Contest. The Foundation is the project of long time New York Radio Personality, Joe Nolan, and his family. Joe’s mom, Maureen Nolan, was a Catholic school teacher at Holy Trinity School in Westfield, NJ for 18 years until her death in 1982. The goal of the foundation is to assist graduates of NJ Catholic high schools with tuition to attend an accredited four-year institution of higher education. The Foundation will award two 2023 graduates (First Prize: $3,500 and Runner-up: $2,500). The contest is open to New Jersey high school students only who will graduate in 2023. The topic of the Essay is How has my Catholic school education influenced my life and how will it make a difference in my future?
All entries must be mailed and postmarked no later than April 15, 2023 and sent to the Maureen E. Nolan Foundation, 170 New Providence Road, Mountainside, NJ 07092. Emailed copies will not be accepted.
