Spartans Aid in Sandy Hook CleanupThis stellar platoon of dedicated Campus Ministry volunteers battled winds and cold, as they worked to clean up trash at Sandy Hook. The wind gusts were 50 mph and seemed to convert the bay area into an ocean-like atmosphere with crashing waves. Keeping warm and the securing the collected debris were challenges. Even carrying the material back to a collection point was difficult because of blowing sand and restricted passage ways that the overflowing water created. Despite the conditions, Spartans being Spartans dealt with the elements to make a contribution to clean up the beach. This is part of the program's commitment to preserve the integrity of Mother Earth. Immaculata is proud of these special members of the Spartan Nation.
