NJ.com reports on the Skyland Conference Team of the Year: "Immaculata may have owned the all-time Somerset County Tournament championship record for quite some time, but until last year, it had a drought of nine years. It kept increasing its total this season when it won a wild 12-inning game over Ridge, 6-5, in this year's championship game. The championship was its 14th overall and came behind a two-out bloop single from Ryan Kabus to walk off the victory. Immaculata averaged six runs per game behind Felix Diaz (.337 with 24 runs and 15 RBI), Peter Gallo (.370 with 14 runs and 18 RBI), Ryan Giacobello (.395 with 20 runs and 11 RBI), Kabus (.294 with 12 runs and nine RBI), Mike McGee (.258 with 4 runs and 10 RBI), Justin Pinckert (.345 with 17 runs and 22 RBI) and Derek Von Horn (.380 with 21 runs and 16 RBI). Its pitching staff was bolstered by Gallo (2-5 with 51 strikeouts and 18 earned runs in 34 1/3 innings), Dan Johnson (2-3 with 41 strikeouts and 11 earned runs in 39 innings), Kabus (6-0 with 25 strikeouts and 2 earned runs in 34 innings) and Jacob Schmidt (5-1 with 26 strikeouts and 16 earned runs in 41 1/3 innings). Immaculata finished 16-10 and fell to Trenton Catholic, 7-3, in the South Jersey, Non-Public B semifinals."
