College Scholarship Offerings

Van Doren Scholarship

Applications for the 2025 Van Doren Scholarship are now being accepted. Scholarships will be awarded to deserving high school and college students who reside in Somerset County, are of exemplary character and can demonstrate what Peter Ellis Van Doren, a long-time resident of Peapack-Gladstone, called a “passion for learning”. While financial need is considered, these scholarships are awarded primarily on the basis of character and achievement. Interested students must be residents of Somerset County who are planning to attend an accredited four-year college or university, a two-year college or a post-high school trade or nursing school. Students can download an application at: www.vandorenscholars.com. Paper copies are also available in the Office of School Counseling. Completed applications must be submitted by March 20, 2025. Requests for transcripts and letters of recommendation must be received by your counselor or Mrs. Peltack by Friday, March 14, 2025 to meet the application deadline. 

Italian American Club at Canal Walk

The Italian American Club at Canal Walk is offering scholarships for high school seniors from Immaculata who are of Italian descent (Father's or Mother's side of the family). The following criteria will be used for this scholarship:
1) A current high school transcript MUST be attached
2) Two (2) letters of recommendation (One letter must be from a teacher; the other from a person who played a supervisory role in a current or past activity in which the applicant participated; e.g. employer, coach, counselor, cleric)
3) List of all extracurricular activities, including school activities, community service activities and work experience, listing years of participation and weekly work hours, if applicable.
4) Letter of Acceptance to a 2 or 4 year accredited college
5) Completion of the following essay topic: Reflect on the ways your Italian heritage has influenced your family's personal identity and/or values. The essay must be a minimum of one (1) and a maximum of two (2) single-spaced typed pages. All applications must contain the 5 items listed above and submitted to the School Counseling Office on or before Monday, March 24, 2025 to meet the Italian American Club’s deadline of March 28th. Italian American Heritage Club of Hunterdon County

The Italian American Heritage Club of Hunterdon County offers nine scholarships available to students who are high school seniors of Italian descent on either side of their family, and reside in Hunterdon County.  Immaculata High School students are encouraged to apply. Branchburg Rotary James McGrady Scholarship

The Branchburg Rotary is pleased to announce a $2,000 scholarship offered by the O'Grady Family in honor of James McGrady, aka Papa Jim, a well-known Chef in Somerset County.  He worked tirelessly to train young people in culinary arts and to help fight hunger wherever he found people in need.  This Scholarship is open to any Somerset County high school senior who intends to work in the culinary field or someone who is dedicated to helping fight hunger as Jim did.  This opportunity is open to seniors with a B average or higher and are passionate about feeding others in a commercial establishment or a community-based organization. The deadline to apply is March 29, 2025 and the application can be found here.

The Rotary Club of Hillsborough 

The Rotary Club of Hillsborough offers a $2,500 scholarship to a senior who resides in Hillsborough and attends school outside of the District.  Immaculata students are encouraged to apply.  The deadline to submit the application is March 30, 2025.  Instructions and an application form can be found here

Junior League of Morristown Scholarship

The Junior League of Morristown Scholarship applications are open and available to high school seniors who reside or attend school in Morris and Somerset Counties and are planning to attend an accredited college or trade school in the Fall of 2025. 

Junior League High School Voluntarism Scholarship

The Junior League High School Voluntarism Scholarship is awarded based on the applicant’s demonstrated commitment to voluntarism. Secondary criteria include leadership, extra-curricular activities, scholastic effort and family responsibilities. Financial need is not considered. Both male and female students are eligible to apply. Applications are collected through the following link: High School Voluntarism Scholarship. Required supporting documents include: official high school transcript, a letter of recommendation from an academic advisor, and a letter of recommendation of someone knowledgeable of the candidate’s voluntarism. The deadline to apply is March 31, 2025. Requests for Transcripts should be received by your counselor or Mrs. Peltack by March 27, 2025 to meet the deadline. Junior League Post Secondary Education Assistance Grant

The Junior League Post Secondary Education Assistance Grant focuses on providing teens with access to resources related to education, life skills and basic needs to enable students to succeed through high school and beyond. Scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors who live and/or attend school in Morris or Somerset counties, and who will be attending an accredited college, university or trade school. Primary criterion is a commitment to continuing education after high school and the ability to demonstrate how the JLM scholarship will enable those goals. Financial circumstances will be considered. Strong leadership skills, academic performance, participation in extracurricular activities, and work or family responsibilities will also be considered. The deadline to apply is March 31, 2025. Please note that you may apply for any Junior League scholarship that you feel you qualify for. Applications are collected through the following link: HS Post Secondary Grant. Required supporting documents include: official high school transcript, one letter of recommendation from a teacher or school advisor, and one letter of recommendation from a religious or community agency representative or work supervisor who is knowledgeable about your educational goals.  

Somerville Civic League

The Somerville Civic League offers scholarships to high school seniors who reside in Somerville and have shown a strong commitment to volunteerism and service within the community of Somerville.   The link to the application and requirements can be found here:

Iron Girl Scholarship

The Iron Girl Scholarship is given in memory of Alexea Karpinski, a 17 year old student athlete who attended Hunterdon Central High School. The Scholarship is open to NJ student athletes, both male and female, who will graduate in 2025 and have a minimum grade point average of 3.5. An application and coach's reference are required. The National Catholic College Admission Association (CCAA)

has announced the National CCAA First-Year Scholarship which will be awarded to 16 randomly selected students from various geographic regions who will attend one of their 117 member institutions in the Fall of 2025. The scholarship is a one-time $1,000 award.  The application is available here. It's brief and should only take students a few minutes to complete. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, April 1, 2025. The Franklin Woman's Club2025 Scholarship 

The 2025 Franklin Woman's Club scholarship has been announced and is open to young women who Reside in Franklin Township (Somerset County), will graduate high school in the Spring of 2025 and are accepted to a 2 or 4-year college.  Applications can be submitted to your School Counselor or Mrs. Peltack by Wednesday, April 2, 2025. You may also submit your completed application by Regular Mail to:  Franklin Woman's Club, P O Box 5793, Somerset, NJ 08873 - postmarked by Wednesday, April 2, 2025 or by Email to:franklinwomansclub@gmail.com. Please indicate FWC Scholarship in the subject line. Email your application no later than Friday, April 4, 2025 The Franklin Woman's Club must receive all application materials by Friday, April 4, 2025 via one of the methods above.  Scholarship details and the application can be found here: 2025 Scholarship Application

The NJ School Counselor Association NJSCA High School Award 

Applications are now being accepted for the NJSCA School Award. 

Candidates must be New Jersey residents who will graduate from a New Jersey high school and have been accepted/plan to enroll in a post secondary institution. Applicants must show proof of acceptance to a college if selected for the award.

The candidate must write a 300-500 word essay describing how a school counselor has influenced his/her life in a positive way.  You can give specific examples about your counselor such as helping you make an important decision, providing support in a critical time, assisting in developing self-understanding and self-acceptance etc. https://www.njsca.org/high-school-award

Loew and Patel Orthodontics

Loew and Patel Orthodontics is offering 3 - $500 scholarships, one for each of their offices located in Flemington, Bridgewater and Annandale to 3 graduating seniors.  Applicants must be current or have been patients in the past of Loew & Patel Orthodontics or Sanford Orthodontics and must be attending college in the Fall of 2025.  A 1-2 page Essay on "The Power of A Smile" is required.  The deadline to apply is Monday, April 7, 2025.  An application and criteria for the scholarship can be found here: Criteria and Application/Coversheet

Somerset County School Nurse Association Scholarship

The Somerset County School Nurse Association offers a scholarships for a high school student who resides in Somerset County and is planning to attend an undergraduate nursing program in the Fall.  The scholarship rules and applications are available here: scholarship rules and application

Rotary Club of Somerville and Bridgewater Scholarship

The Rotary Club of Somerville and Bridgewater has announced their $2,0500 scholarship to be awarded to one (1) Immaculata High School senior planning to attend college next year.  Selection is based on academic performance, extracurricular activities and service to the community.   An application, a 500-word essay, a copy of the student’s transcript and no more than two letters of recommendation are required. The John Santos Charitable Organization 

The John Santos Charitable Organization offers scholarship opportunities to students who have been impacted by mental health changes and/or suicide.  Students must be seniors who are continuing their education, preferably in a field that aids mental health, have demonstrated an excellent record of academic achievement and service to the community.  A copy of your transcript, a resume highlighting extracurricular activities and community service, as well as a 500-word essay are required.  All documents should be emailed to: augusta@johnsantoscharitableorganization.org on or before May 5, 2025.  A copy of the requirements and application can be obtained here

The Rotary Club of Somerville and Bridgewater von Stade Music Scholarship

This $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to one (1) senior from participating high schools (Immaculata HS, Somerville HS, Bridgewater-Raritan HS, Vo-Tech HS) who plans on majoring in music next year in College.  The time and place of the auditions will be announced.  Interested seniors are encouraged to contact the Immaculata Music Director or Lilian Tarantino at 908-725-0737 for more information and a copy of the application.

Work Ethic Scholarship

The Work Ethic Scholarship Program is giving away $2,500,000 in scholarships this year to hardworking young men and women looking to be trained in skilled trade jobs as an alternative to four-year college.  Information can be found on the following link: https://mikeroweworks.org/scholarship/
