The Office of Advancement plans and supports many special events, not just to raise funds but also to build fellowship within our Spartan family! These events include:
- Our Spartan Memorial Mass - Each November, we gather in our school gym for a special Mass to honor the lives of our deceased alumni, faculty, Guardian Angels and Spartans of the Year. After the Mass, we will have light refreshments in the cafeteria.
- Our Spartan Spirit 5K - This annual community race through the historic streets of downtown Somerville directly benefits the financial aid efforts of both parish schools.
- Our Spartan Soirée - This formal gala event is held each year at the conclusion of Catholic Schools Week to celebrate both Immaculate Conception School and Immaculata High School!
- Our Golf Classic and Mackie Award Brunch - This fun annual golf tournament raises funds for our school and honors the life of J. Brandon (Mackie) Maxwell Jr., and ardent supporter of IHS.
- Our Grandparents Mass - Each year, one of our First Friday Masses is designated to honor our grandparents in a special way, and is followed by light refreshments in our Spartan Center.
- Spartan Jazz Supper Club - Held each year in late April / early May, this fun-filled evening of dancing and music (provided by our own student jazz ensembles) benefits the Sr. Dolores Scholarship Fund. The winner of our annual Cash Raffle is also announced!
- Our annual Christmas Festival is a day full of Advent festivities for Immaculate Conception Church and both parish schools. Events throughout the day include a pancake breakfast with Santa, a cookie walk, a basket raffle, a lessons and carols service, and the lighting of Christmas trees on the church grounds.
This list doesn't even include some of the other special events sponsored each year by our Spartan Club, fundraisers held by individual clubs / organizations / teams within IHS, alumni reunions, and so many other wonderful events! These events only happen with the extensive support of our volunteers.
